It all started when…

…the sweet family who was renting a house to the current priest at St. Mark faced a job transfer and had to move. The diocese was met with a choice, keep finding inexpensive living quarters for the local priest in a quickly escalating real estate market, or build the priest a space of his own. The choice was easy, the land had been purchased with a rectory in mind, all they had to do was build it. Mountain West Contractors won the job and worked closely with priest, diocese, and parishioners to erect a building as functional as it is eye-catching. Now the priest lives just steps away from his “wife,” the church, and there is plenty of room for visiting priests and other speakers.

Baptismal Font Before …. After

When St. Mark Catholic church was constructed in 2005, the goal was to give the parishioner an immersive, spiritual experience. As the faithful walked into the sanctuary, the first thing they came upon was a striking font carved into the floor of the sanctuary. Unfortunately, the front proved too “immerseful” as several people, distracted by the beauty of the moment, fell in. Christmas and Easter proved to be especially disastrous. Wishing the church to be a place of healing instead of trauma, the decision was made to build a beautiful font that no one could ever fall into again.
